I learned about disaster prevention and reduce disaster damage while walking in May.

　Since fiscal 2019, Kanagawa Ward has been working on disaster prevention measures for childcare and educational facilities with members of the Miwa Laboratory of Yokohama City University and the Town Childcare Study Group to prepare for large-scale disasters that do not occur when.
　As part of this effort, children and staff who attend childcare and educational facilities have created a teaching material called Tekutekumachi, which allows them to learn about the resources and utilization of the city from the perspective of disaster prevention and reduce disaster damage as an extension of their daily lives.
　Tekutekumachi is distributed to approximately 130 childcare and educational facilities in Kanagawa Ward, which is used to raise awareness of disaster prevention among children and staff.

　The other day, I was blessed with the opportunity to take a walk around the town with the children of Matsumi Nursery School using this "Tekutekumachi".
　The purpose of this time is to find a sign "0m above sea level" out of 20 types of cards. First of all, at the morning meeting, everyone thought about the meaning of the picture on the card.
　And we left for a walk. It was impressive that the nursery teachers devised and guided and explained so that the children could think on their own. In addition, the people who passed each other during the walk waved their hands with a smile and gently returned greetings to the children. Looking at such a scene, I realized again that the children were really watched and grew up by many people.
　Since I was a child, I thought it would be nice to be interested in the characteristics and dangers of my city, and to work on disaster prevention and reduce disaster damage.
