　In this month's “Director General People and Town Exploration (External Site)”, we will introduce the activities of the story-telling volunteer “Kanabuku”.
　"Kanabuku" is a group of storytelling picture books that are active in various places such as public facilities in the city. With the cooperation of the Kanagawa Library and the local child care support base "Kanachie", we read stories mainly for 0-year-olds.

　On this day, I visited a story-telling party held at the Kanachie Satellite (outside site) "Ohanashi-no-kai on a 0-year-old knee". It was impressive to see the babies paying attention to the real story-telling. According to Nakao, the librarian of Kanagawa Library, picture books will be available from around 5 to 6 months after birth. The babies seemed interested in picture book pictures, voices, and various sounds.

　At the end of the story-telling session, it was a time for exchange between Kanabuku and participants. A participant's question, "What kind of picture book should I choose?", He was advised with his own experience of raising children. "Kanabuku" values this exchange time. It seems that he wants the story-telling party to be one of the places where parents and children can spend time. I felt that reading aloud was not only a time to enjoy picture books, but also a place to interact with parents and children, and a place to consult about everyday child care concerns. .

　The goal of everyone in "Kanabuku" is to go to "Kamekko", which has 47 venues in 45 districts in the city, and hold a "Delivery Storytelling Party". From now on, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's activities in all places in the city.
