Director General Column Taking advantage of young people's ideas (February 1, 2024)

　One month before the New Year, during this time, I had the opportunity to get energy from the generations who will live in the future.
　At the “Gathering to Celebrate Twenty-year-old Citizens” attended on January 8 (Mon./holiday), the venue was full of gorgeous costumes and smiles delighted with reunion. I was very impressed by the solid progress of the Executive Committee and the "20-year-old Oath". About 1,800 people in Minami Ward are twenty years old. I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to all of you who have reached a milestone in life.
　On January 24 (Wednesday), students from Yokohama Municipal High School visited the presentation of "It's an offer to Yokoso students" to consider solutions to local issues. . This is a regional revitalization project that the school has been implementing since 2015, and also addressed issues (offers) from the Minami Ward Office. I saw local issues as my own, and proposed solutions from the perspective of high school students, which was very helpful.
　I was reassured to see the reliable appearance of the younger generation supporting Minami Ward in the future,Minami Ward was looking forward to the future. I will do my best to create a ward that walks with the local people so as not to lose to young power.
