The history and origin of the town name / Aobadai 1-chome to 2-chome
Hen history / origin
A town newly established from a part of Ondacho with the enforcement of the land readjustment project in 1967. In the old days, it was Onda Village, Tsuzuki County. When the municipal system was enforced in 1889, it merged with Nara Village and Nagatsuda Village to become Tana Village Oaza Onda, and became Ondacho when transferred to Yokohama City in 1939. Transferred from Midori Ward following the reorganization of administrative districts in 1994. The street name is based on the name of "Aobadai Station" on the Tokyu Denentoshi Line, which opened in 1966, according to local requests. Before the development was carried out, there were many pine, cypress, cedar, etc., and it was said that Aobadai was planned to be a town rich in greenery and the sun throughout the four seasons.
