Hen history / origin
A town newly established from Eda, Sannaimura, when transferring to Yokohama City in 1939. In the old days, it was Eda Village, Tsuzuki County. When the municipal system was enacted in 1889, it merged with Motoishikawa Village and Kurosuda Village Hiji to become Tsuzuki Koriyama Uchimura Oaza Eda. Transferred from Midori Ward following the reorganization of administrative districts in 1994. The name of the town was the old village. According to the place name study, "eda" means "wetland".
