Hen history / origin
A town newly established from a part of Edacho with the enforcement of the land readjustment project in 1978. In the old days, it was Eda Village, Tsuzuki County. When the municipal system was enacted in 1889, it merged with Motoishikawa Village and Kurosuda Village Hiji to form Sannaimura Oaza Eda, and became Edacho when transferred to Yokohama City in 1939. Transferred from Midori Ward following the reorganization of administrative districts in 1994. The street name is "Edakita" because it is located on the north side of Eda Station on the Tokyu Denentoshi Line.
