　There are currently 25 play parks in the city and 3 in Kanagawa Ward. One of them, Katakura Usagiyama Play Park, was born in March 2001 after a two-year park-building workshop by residents and the government, valuing the desire to create a place where children can play and grow freely.
　Here, "Play Leaders" play a central role in creating a variety of play environments tailored to the four seasons while having fun with your children. On the day I visited, I saw the play leader climbing the scaffolding of "Yagura" and the child boldly challenged, made mud dumplings together, cooked with flowers taken in the field in front of me, hit open-air fire, etc.…In the city, the sights that have become quite difficult now are spreading richly. There was a child who could not walk yet slept comfortably with a hammock, and parents were enjoying chatting beside him.
　This play park is also a place where everyone, regardless of generation, can spend their time at will. Children who cannot go to school may come to play. In addition, it seems that children who have experienced play here grow up and become university students, and sometimes return as a place for learning.
I think that there were various difficulties before the local activities and people were connected and the foundation was formed, but the staff were full of bright smiles that did not make you feel such a thing and a passion to protect everyone's place. Was.
