Research project name

Examination of thrombotic recovery techniques for tandem obstruction

Purpose and Method of Research

Purpose

It is said that 10-15% of brain-main arterial obstruction include tandem obstruction, which is a combination of cervical stenosis or blockage with intracranial blood vessel obstruction. The treatment procedure is often complicated, but no effective treatment has been established.

This time, we devised a technique called "Coaxial Method of PTA Balloon and Aspiration catheter using delivery wire of stent retriever for tandem occlusions" CoMBAt tandem occlusions, which uses stent retrieval, suction catheter and PTA bulk at the same time to obtain fast and safe reopening. This procedure does not use the equipment for any other purpose, but is a normal medical treatment used for normal purposes.

In this study, we will observe cases in which treatment intervention was performed using the above treatment procedure and examine the treatment procedure for tandem obstruction where effective treatment procedures have not been established.

Method

Observe the cases where treatment intervention was performed using the above treatment procedure in a backward-looking manner.

Subject of research

We collect information about patient background, course of treatment, and prognosis from the chart about patients who have been treated for tandem obstruction using the above treatment procedure. The observation period is from January 2020 to July 2022.

Handling of Personal Information

The data obtained in this study may be aggregated and published, but when aggregated data, all personal information is anonymized and handled in a format that cannot be identified by individuals.

The burden of research subjects and the expected risks

Since this study is usually within the scope of medical treatment and is also a backward-looking study, there is no new risk from the study.
