Purpose and Method of Research
Purpose
The purpose is to analyze incidents related to medication for patients who are self-controlling oral medications and to clarify the factors of patients and healthcare providers who cause the incident.
Method
Patients who were hospitalized in convalescent rehabilitation wards (5th floor east and 5th floor west wards) from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, who had an incident during self-management for one week This is a backward observation study by collecting information from incident reports and medical records.
Subject of research
Patients who were hospitalized in convalescent rehabilitation wards (5th floor east and 5th floor west wards) from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 Patients who have forgotten to drink or drink while self-management of oral medication for one week Patients who have forgotten to drink.
Research Period
From August 2021 to March 31, 2026
Types of specimens and information used in research
Use medical data such as electronic medical records (age, gender, disease name, presence or absence of motor or higher brain dysfunction, status of living together family, progress of self-management of oral medications, etc.). The data used does not include personally identifiable information such as personal names or Address.
Acquisition and storage of samples and information
Data created during the research process will be stored in the management shelves of the relevant department for three years after the presentation of the research, and will be discarded in a shredder immediately after the research is completed.

The burden and expected risks and benefits arising from research subjects
This study investigates incident reports of patients who receive treatment in daily care, and does not generate any new costs or benefits from the research. In addition, it is considered that there are no health hazards or predicted risks that may occur to patients by this study. The research results will be used to improve the quality of nursing in the future.
