Notification of food-related business (businesses that do not require permission)

　No business notification is required for the following business operations. If you are doing business other than the following industries and licensed industries, please submit a business report.

• Importing of food or additives
• Business that only stores or transports food or additives (excluding food frozen and refrigerated warehouses)
• Sales of packaging foods that do not cause food hygiene hazards due to spoilage, deterioration, or other deterioration of quality even if stored at room temperature for a long period of time.
• Manufacture of equipment containers and packaging other than synthetic resins
• Import or sales of equipment containers and packaging
• Group lunch facilities (facility less than 20 meals at a time when a contractor outsources cooking work has obtained permission)
• Agriculture, fishing, etc.

　If you have obtained a business license for the following industries, which was transferred from permission to notification in accordance with the revision of the Food Sanitation Law on June 1, 2021, before May 31, 2021, no new notification is required because it is deemed to have been submitted on June 1, 2021. However, if you are conducting more than one registered business, you may be asked to select one representing your business form from the notified business type and submit a representative business type again. (In the revised Food Sanitation Law, one representative industry is to be notified.)

• Breast sales
• Meat sales business (when only packaged meat is sold)
• Fish and shellfish sales business (when only packaged seafood is sold)
• Ice and snow sales business
• Part of restaurant operations (vending machines)　※
• Part of coffee shop sales (vending machines)　※

　The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has started operation of the food hygiene application system, and since June 1, 2021, procedures have become possible via the Internet. If you use the food hygiene application system, please attach the following required documents and submit a notification.
　In addition, it is possible to apply at the counter.

　Please attach the following documents to the food hygiene application system.

• Documents certifying the qualification of a food hygiene manager
  If you do not have a qualified food hygiene officer, please appoint it within 3 months.
