I gave a lecture at a nursing school!
Last updated on September 9, 2019.
Hello everyone. This is Otsu, a certified nurse for feeding and swallowing disorders. On September 5 and 6, we gave a lecture to second-year students of the Yokohama City Hospital Association Nursing School. The title was "Home Nursing Theory II-Support for home care recipients who need oral care."
On the day, in addition to classroom lectures, exercises included experiences of patients with contaminated oral cavity, experiences of (receiving) oral care with assistance, and oral care while preventing aspiration on the bed. I also considered issues and ideas for continuing oral care at home.
In our nursing department, many nurses give lectures to convey specialized knowledge and skills to nursing students. It is very thankful to take this opportunity to be involved in the development of future nurses. As a lecturer, I will do my best to convey not only knowledge and skills but also the spirit of a nurse!
