We have introduced an artificial joint surgery support robot!

In 2023, the Stroke and Neurospinal Center introduced the artificial joint surgery support robot, ROSA Knee System (made by Zimmer-Biomet). Used for surgery in patients who have chosen artificial joint replacement for treatment of osteoarthritis.

ROSA Knee is a robot that provides support to a sword surgeon instead of performing surgery remotely, such as the surgical support robot "da Vinci". It consists of a multi-joint robot arm and an optical unit, and during surgery, the optical unit grasps the exact position of the knee, and the six-axis multi-joint robot arm supports the hand with smooth movement.

By supporting surgery that has relied on doctors' experience, skills, and sensations, robots can provide safer artificial joints with more accurate, less burdens. We will continue to contribute to further improving the quality of life of patients and extending healthy life expectancy.
