[20th] I experienced rice harvesting at Shinji Yatoda.
Saturday, October 3, 2020
Last updated on October 7, 2020.
In the fine autumn weather, we participated in the “Tandoda Rice Harvesting” in Shinji Citizen's Forest held on Saturday, October 3. . Thanks to the enthusiastic care of the members of the “Shinji Yatoda Protection Association” (Chairman: Hiroshi Hara), the seedlings planted on Sunday, June 7 grew brilliantly, and the fields glowed golden. Due to the influence of COVID-19 infection, rice planting was attended only by those involved, but we took measures against infectious diseases, and this time we harvested rice with five general participants who were also involved in making scarecrows.
Following the rice planting, it was the first rice harvesting, so I learned how to use a sickle and how to bundle rice, wipe out the sweat of my forehead, cut and bundle the rice with an unfamiliar hand, and realized the difficulty of making rice. did.
After harvesting the rice, the freshly harvested ears were divided, and the aroma of raw rice and the slight sweetness were tasted. This time, I was very grateful to the members of the Association for Protecting Shinji Yatoda, and I was able to experience rice harvesting comfortably and happily surrounded by rich nature, and feel the blessings of nature again. Thank you very much.
