[33rd] Celebration of longevity!

September 14, 2022

Last updated on September 16, 2022.

We asked Mr. Hisao Ikeda, a 109-year-old man in Midori Ward and Kanagawa Prefecture to celebrate his longevity. (The oldest in the city is a female 112 years old)
I've heard about day service (elderly day care)'s "Fun Tokaichiba," which I go to three days a week. We handed a message from the mayor and congratulatory items (tea and jelly) and talked.
Mr. Ikeda told us that he had a hard time as president of the company during the military era and during high economic growth. He has been playing gateball for 40 years from the age of 60 to 100 years, and has traveled not only to Japan but also to Hawaii on an expedition. After all, I felt that moving my body and having fun talking were the secrets of longevity.
The smile is wonderful and surrounded by family members, and I spend my heart calmly. I hope you will continue to live well and long.
I have pledged to my heart that I will continue to do my best.
Finally, I took a commemorative photo with my family. Thank you very much for your wonderful time.

Hiroo Okada, Mayor of Midori
