On Sunday, February 19, an "interesting science experiment class" for elementary and junior high school students was held at the Nagatsuta District Center. .
This course was planned in cooperation with Tokyo Institute of Technology, which has a campus in Suzukakedai in the city and is conducting advanced research in the field of science and technology.
Department of Life Science and Technology, School of Life Science and Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology.Associate Professor Ayuko Hoshino of the Department of Life Science and Technology, School of Life Science and Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology.
I participated in an experiment to extract broccoli DNA with the participants of the junior high school section.
After listening to explanations about DNA, which is a variety of "biological blueprints" for humans, animals and plants, as well as humans, grind broccoli with a scrubber, or use a vegetable drainer to "centrifuge" the melted liquid. After that, he showed me, "This whitish thing is DNA." Everyone felt the pleasure of experimenting while moving their hands and cooperating.
I would like more and more elementary school student students to learn more about the fun of science.
Midori Ward will support the growth of Tokyo Tech students who provided guidance and support for the participants, as well as young people who will lead the future of Japan.
Elementary school students (the secret of color to protect plants)
Students from Tokyo Institute of Technology will serve as facilitators and assist in experiments.
Purple changes to red or blue depending on the liquid added.
Junior high school students (Let's extract DNA from familiar ones)
I'm looking forward to seeing DNA in the experiment.
I participated in the experiment with junior high school students.
