Can the National Health Insurance medical expenses Notice (medical expenses Notice) be used to declare the medical expenses deduction?
The medical expenses notice issued by Yokohama City National Health Insurance after 2018 can be used as an attachment to the medical expenses deduction. However, if there is a supplement or additional description of the name of the medical institution, it is necessary to supplement the medical expenses notice or prepare a “medical expenses Deduction Statement” based on the receipt. (In this case, medical expenses receipts must be kept after declaration.)
In addition, medical expenses information from September 2021 onwards from the minor portal became available from the month following the month of consultation, and it became possible to automatically enter medical expenses information by deducting medical expenses in the final tax return (as before, for medical expenses, for medical treatment from January to August 2021, medical expenses notices and receipts will be required.)
The medical expenses information on the minor portal does not include medical expenses such as "softness". In addition, there may be differences from the medical expenses information described in the medical expenses notice, depending on the timing of the creation of medical expenses information.
In addition, please contact the relevant tax office for details of procedures for medical expenses deduction.
