　On January 17, 1985, the Seya Library opened. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in January of this year.
　Therefore, Seya Ward Office and Seya Library held an event called “Living with Books and Flowers: Flower Arrangement Experience Course” on January 25, combining the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Seya Library and the PR of GRREN x EXPO 2027 at Seya Kumin Cultural Center Hydrangea Plaza. On the day, more than 70 inhabitants of the ward participated.
　The event started with a mini book talk about flowers and greenery by the librarian of the Seya Library. A wide variety of books are introduced, including stories about growing and eating plants, books that involve flowers and history, and stories of children who are crazy about growing flowers, and are attracted to a wide variety of books related to flowers and greenery. Was. Also, behind the event venue, about 30 books on horticulture and agriculture selected by the librarian were exhibited. Everyone who participated picked up a lot of hands on the way home and watched it. These books will be exhibited at the Seya Library until February 11, so please come and visit us.
　In the next flower arrangement experience course, we invited Miho Sugawara, who runs a florist in Seya Ward and is qualified as a first-class flower decoration technician. This time, we made arrangements using seven kinds of flowers, and made them while teaching them about the features of each flower and how to insert them. Despite using the same kind of flowers, everyone created a wonderful work different from each other, and I was very excited to see it.
　This event was also supported by students from the Yokohama Hana Expo Liaison Council and Kanagawa Prefectural Yokohama Seya High School as volunteers. . Thank you very much to everyone who participated and supported us.
