The 55th Seya Ward Marathon was held on February 20, 2025.

　The Seya Ward Marathon, organized by the Seya Ward Athletics Association, was held on January 26. Although the cold weather was severe, the marathon was held in perfect condition, with a total of 686 runners participating.
　The marathon event is held every year from the traffic light in front of Seya Junior High School on a course using a navy road. This year, the course was changed due to the bypass of the Navy Road due to the progress of redevelopment of Kami Seya. On a course of more than 5 km, we will run on the bypass road switched last December. How was the new bypass road running comfortable?
　More than usual, many people who came to cheer filled the roadside and it was a lively tournament.
　In this tournament, junior high school boys' 1st year section (conventional record: 9 minutes 45 seconds, new record: 9 minutes 37 seconds), middle-aged boys' section 10km (conventional record: 34 minutes 39 seconds, new record: 33 minutes 48 seconds) A new record of the tournament was created in two divisions. Congratulations. I saw everyone who participated running with all their might to update their personal best, and I was fine.

　This event was supported by the Seya Ward Athletics Association, the Seya Ward Sports Association, the Neighborhood Associations Neighborhood Association Liaison Council of the Seya Ward Association, the Seya Traffic Safety Association, and many other Seya Ward organizations, the Seya police department, and the high school students in Seya Ward. 　We also entered the Seya Ward Office Orange Ribbon Association, which was organized by volunteers from Seya Ward Office. Two people increased from last year, and 10 people participated wearing orange polo shirts promoting "child abuse prevention". It is said that cheering along the road was helpful.
