58."Autumn National Traffic Safety Campaign" has started
Last updated on September 22, 2022.
September 21-30 is the "Autumn National Traffic Safety Campaign" period.
What is the national priority this time?
- Ensuring the safety of pedestrians, including children and the elderly
- Prevention of pedestrian accidents at dusk and at night and eradication of drunk driving
- Thorough compliance with bicycle traffic rules
There are three items.
After the early fall of sunset, serious traffic accidents often occur at dusk and at night, and it is said that the number of pedestrians crossing fatal accident is increasing. It is important that pedestrians, not only those driving cars, motorcycles, and bicycles, but also pedestrians do not cross outside pedestrian crossings and observe traffic lights. Please take this opportunity to think, confirm, and practice traffic safety again.
State of school attendance
By the way, on September 21, the first day of the National Traffic Safety Campaign in Autumn, in front of the main gate of Ryokuen Gakuen, which opened in April this year, we watched the school attendance with police department Izumi, schools, and local residents. There are no traffic lights on the pedestrian crossing in front of the main gate of Ryokuen Gakuen, but there are many cars. In order to protect the safety of children, local people and teachers stand in front of the main gate every day to organize traffic. Thank you very much for your activities every day for the safe and secure school for children.
Let us, adults, as well as children, adhere to traffic rules and aim for a safe and secure Izumi Ward without traffic accidents.
September 22, 2022 Atsuko Fukagawa, Mayor of Izumi
