　January 15th is "first full moon festival." "Dondoyaki" hosted by Fujimigaoka Union Neighborhood Association was held at Izumi Sakura Plaza for the first time in three years. "Dondoyaki" is a local event that concludes the New Year's Day in first full moon festival. The pine decorations and Shinto straw festoon thatsound health decorated the pine trees and the talismans that were awarded last year are brought to shrines, local squares and fields to burn them. At the Fujimigaoka Union Neighborhood Association, until before the COVID-19 pandemic, we all wished for a year such as sound health while making rice cakes and eating pork juice, but this year it was held without eating and drinking behavior with infection control measures.
　After the opening greeting, sprinkle on the yagura that is making sake and ignited. The flame burned up and the Dondo-Yaki bonfire began. An event that has been going on for a long time in the Fujimigaoka Union area. It was time for many people to gather at the venue with New Year decorations and see the burning pine decorations and Shinto straw festoon, praying for the health and safety of this year.
　I would like to continue to pass on the culture of good Izumi Ward together with the local community while connecting the traditional events of the region to the next generation.
