Since Long-term Care Insurance Premium is an important source of funding for The Long-term Care Insurance services, delays in payment can be a major obstacle to maintaining the long-term care insurance system. Therefore, if insurance premiums are delinquent without any special circumstances, the following measures may be taken in accordance with laws and regulations when using The Long-term Care Insurance Services to ensure fairness with those who pay insurance premiums.
●If the premium has not been paid for one year from the due date
If you change the insurance benefits to Payment method (reimbursement payment), you will have to pay the entire amount once you use the The Long-term Care Insurance Service. In addition, you will be responsible for all room charges and food expenses when using the facility. In addition, the insurance payment of the expenses you have paid will be paid at a later date when applied to the ward office.
●If the premium has not been paid for one year and six months from the due date
For those who are subject to the change in Payment method, the payment of insurance benefits will be temporarily suspended and delinquent premiums will be deducted from the suspended insurance benefits.
●If you have not paid insurance premiums for more than 2 years from the due date
Premiums cannot be paid due to prescription after two years have passed since the day after the "Dunning Letter" arrives (the date of the statute of limitations). If there is an insurance premium that cannot be paid due to prescription, the percentage of out-of-pocket expenses for using The Long-term Care Insurance Service will be 30% or 40% depending on the period. In addition, during this period, all room charges and food expenses when using the facility will be borne by the user, and no large nursing care service expenses will be paid.
