In addition to the following certificate issuance window, you can also apply online or request mail.

Certificate issuance window

  • You can take it at the "municipal office of your permanent address".
  • If you have a permanent domicile in Yokohama, you can get it at any ward office or administrative service corner in the city. (We do not handle it at the city hall.)
  • You can also request it by mail. Requests by telephone or facsimile are not possible.

What you bring at the time of request

You will need to present your photo identification documents (driver's license, passport, my number card, etc.) to confirm your identity in applicant.
If your identity verification document does not have a photo, such as a National Health Insurance Card, you may be asked to present another identity verification document or ask questions.
If proxy/agent is requested, a power of attorney must be submitted, but if the request is a spouse of the claimant, direct ancestry or subordinate (child, grandchild, parent, grandparent, etc.), the attachment of a power of attorney can be omitted. In this case, please indicate on the invoice that the request was made.

2nd and 4th Saturday of every month from 9:00 am to 0:00 pm
※During Reception hours, lunch breaks are also accepted, Saturday (except for 2nd and 4th)
※Excludes Sunday, public holidays, public holidays, national holidays, New Year's holidays from December 29 to January 3 of the following year

Each administrative service corner

Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
※Reception is also available during lunch breaks during Reception hours.
※Excludes public holidays and holidays transfer holidays, national holidays, New Year's holidays from December 29 to January 3 of the following year
※The facility may be temporarily closed for maintenance and inspection of equipment.
※There is no parking lot, so please refrain from coming by car.

When applying online

If you have a My Number Card, a smartphone compatible with My Number Card, or a credit card, you can apply for a certificate that describes yourself online.
To use it, you need the PIN of the digital certificate for signature (6 to 16 digits alphanumeric characters).
In addition, 300 yen per copy + postage is required.
