Go up Momijizaka near Sakuragicho Station and go back to the back of Kanagawa Pref. Concert Hall to see Mt. Kamon Park and Yokohama Noh-theater. After the end of the war, when I first came to the park, there were no statues of metal supplies during the war, so it was like a normal park.
This park was called "Railway Mountain" by former Hikone clansman volunteers in 1858 to honor the elders who decided to open Yokohama port in 1858. Purchased this land. The statue was erected in 1909. Five years later, it was donated to Yokohama City and opened to the public as "Kamonyama Park."
The second-generation statue was rebuilt in 1954. Cherry-blossom viewing in spring and a meeting to listen to insects in summer are held and popular.
Just before the opening of the port, the area around Yokohama Village, which is semi-farming and semi-fishing, is now bustling with high-rise buildings such as landmark towers. Mr. Kamon of the statue may think, "There is a foresight!"…。
