It's new! Nishi Ward Tekuteku Sketch: The 46th Ishizaki River Promenade

　From the east exit of Yokohama Station, go toward Takashimacho and cross the Banribashi Bridge over the Katabira River. The next Asayamabashi Bridge starts the Ishizaki River Promenade, which is about 1.6 kilometers. Walk along the river upstream. The Ishizaki River is a river that flows only through Nishi Ward and was prepared as an irrigation canal during the Edo period when Hiranuma Nitta was developed.
　In the next Takashimabashi Bridge, the river turns right, and when you cross the pedestrian bridge, it becomes a quiet walkway. Next is Shikishima Bridge, where the Yokohama way, which was suddenly built at the opening of Yokohama in late Tokugawa shogunate, passes. Many bridges over the river were completed around 1928 (Showa 3) after the Great Kanto Earthquake. Old cobblestones remain on the road in some places, and now fewer willows are planted along the river. Here, the old Showa landscape is left.
　It's so calm that it doesn't seem like the road just behind National Route 1. After passing Ishizaki Bridge, Umegasaki Bridge, Hiratobashi, etc., the Ishizaki River turns right at Hamamatsu Bridge, you will meet the main stream of Katabira River again.
　Next, I would like to walk around when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
