There was a red brick condominium beside the elevated JR Keihin Tohoku Line at the Takashimacho intersection, which used to be the second generation Yokohama Station.
The first Yokohama Station was the current location of Sakuragicho Station, but in 1915, a red brick station building with a two-story tower was built here.
If you look at the photos at that time, you can see that there were cars lined up in front of the station, and it was a station with a personality. However, after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 (1923), the outer wall was burned down, unfortunately.…He had a short life of eight years.
Now, there is a brick on the foundation, such as the baggage reception desk in the station building dug out. And remain, which is the entrance to the seawater at the Takashima Power Station behind the Yokohama Joint Electric Light Company.
remain is hard to see from the road, but be sure to look for it. This was the main entrance of Yokohama for a short period of time.
