It's new! Nishi Ward Tekuteku Sketch: The 54th Shiri Kosurizaka
This is a sketch and text published in the public relations Yokohama Nishi Ward version from June 2013. The content may differ from the current one. Thank you for your understanding.
The steep slope next to the "Seventh Yurindo Bookstore" at the Fujidanacho intersection is going up, down, up, and downhill is "Shiri Kosurizaka".
I used to go to Noge-yama Amusement Park, Nogeyama Park and Chuo-toshokan City since I was a kid.
This slope is a water pipe buried in the middle of the Meiji era, where drinking water was sent from the Sagami River to Yokohama City. Even now, the water supply from the Nishiya water purification plant is being carried under this slope.
When you stand on the hill, you can feel that it is a steep slope. In the past, it was said that the person who pulled the cart went down while holding the car with the buttocks, so it came to be called "Shiri Kosurizaka". Now, neighbors just call it a "steep slope."
As I was sketching under the hill, I heard a lion's barking voice from "Nogeyama Zoo" right next to me, "Wow, Wow!" When you finish sketching, let's meet the Lion.
