It's new! Nishi Ward Tekuteku Sketch: 66th Nogezaka
This is a sketch and text published in the public relations Yokohama Nishi Ward version from June 2013. The content may differ from the current one. Thank you for your understanding.
Nogezaka
The steep downhill from Nogeyama-dobutsuen-mae to Noge 3-chome is Nogezaka, and families who come to see the zoo come up the hill. In the Meiji era, a nearby Noge cut-off was said to be Nogezaka. In the Meiji era, there were mansions of Australian merchants dealing with raw silk and other items around Nogezaka.
Next to Nogeyama Zoo is Nogeyama Park. It was landscaping on the ruins of mansion in 1926 (Daisho 15) after the Great Kanto Earthquake. It has been loved by Yokohama citizens for a long time as a place to relax, such as cherry blossom viewing in spring.
My first grade elementary school excursion was this Nogeyama Park. It is a memory of my first excursion that I dropped a lunch box rice ball to Sakashita and rattled it.
As you go down the slope, you will find Yokohama Mayor's Office, Noge Sanso and Municipal Central Library on the right sideNogezaka intersection. From here I entered Naka Ward, and immediately after the end of the war, I remember that stalls were lined up on both sides of the slope up to Noge 3-chome, lined up with bissiri.
