The Hamamatsucho intersection, where National Route 1 and Route 1 intersect, always has a lot of traffic.
To get to Kofukuji, cross the Owariya Bridge with an unusual S-shaped curve across the Tokaido Main Line, Yokosuka Line, and Sotetsu Main Line and the Katabira River. There is a railway line right away from the intersection, so it is an S-shaped curve.
Completed with difficult construction in 1929 after the Great Kanto Earthquake. The name of the bridge was named "Owariya Nitta", which was reclaimed at the mouth of the river during the mid-Edo period.
The year after the bridge was completed, the Sengencho Line of the streetcar was opened, and the Chinchin train ran on the bridge.
I remember the leisurely scenery where the tram running from Urafunecho to Rokukakubashi slowly goes down the steep curve slope of the bridge.
When it is clear, you can see Mount Fuji from the top of the bridge. Passengers of the streetcar would have enjoyed watching the magnificent Mount Fuji from the window.
