Before the opening of Yokohama in late Tokugawa shogunate and the rapid construction of the Yokohama way, many travelers walked from Hodogaya-juku to Hodogaya-do to reach the port.
The road is now a shopping street. Following the Sun Mall Nishiyokohama Shopping Association in Kubocho, he entered the Fujidana Shopping Street. There are shops selling daily necessities such as liquor stores, fresh fish stores, greengrocers, butchers, general stores, and side dish shops. It is a shopping street where the old atmosphere of Showa still drifts.
After walking for a while, you will get to the lively Fujidanacho intersection. The tap road leading to Mt. Noge Reservoir intersects. There is "Koban" (police box) in the corner and Fujidana in the name of the town. There are two banks nearby, and the intersection is the center of this area. In the past, there was a streetcar stop and it has been crowded for a long time. Crossing the intersection, "Fujidana Ichibangai". Immediately after the end of the war, there was also a movie theater of Western painting. Supermarkets, Kamaboko stores, bookstores, and Western-style shops are a convenient town with a lot of daily necessities. It's fun to imagine that travelers went along this road to the port in the past.
