It's new! Nishi Ward Tekuteku Sketch: The 45th Joey Nas Forest Sculpture Park

When you go to the rooftop of Joey eggplant station building in Yokohama-sta.-nishiguchi, you will find Joey eggplant forest sculpture park in the rooftop garden. In 1978 (Showa 53), "Joey eggplant forest" was completed, and five years later it became "Joey eggplant forest sculpture park".
It was about 4,600 square meters in area, and it was rare for a garden on the rooftop at that time, making it the largest in Japan. There were few places where West Exit could easily rest because of its sudden development. It's gone now, but there is a 9-meter-high waterfall in the park, which seemed to be an oasis in Bill Street.
At present, about 20,000 trees, including the 10-meter-high Cinnamomum camphora, are growing. Six sculptures such as "Nike '83" by Kyoko Asakura and "Marika" by Yasutake Funakoshi are installed in various places and can be appreciated.
When you come to the rooftop garden from the crowded shopping department, you will be relieved. You can hear "♪ Peppy P" and the sound of a small bird, sooth your heart and taste the feeling of a forest bathing.
