It's new! Nishi Ward Tekuteku Sketch: The 39th Jinchuzaka slope
This is a sketch and text published in the public relations Yokohama Nishi Ward version from June 2013. The content may differ from the current one. Thank you for your understanding.
Shops are lined up, and the Fujidanacho intersection is always bustling with six-way road. Go up the steep slope in front of the seventh Yurindo bookstore on the right corner.
When I was a child, I often went to Nogeyama Park across this hill, even with my friends. This road is called the Suidomichi, and in 1887 (Meiji 20), Japan's first modern water supply was developed from Mitsui, Midori-ku, Sagamihara City to Nogeyama Water Purification Plant. Rails were laid, and trucks carried materials such as water pipes buried on the road. This steep slope would have been a difficult construction.
Looking back in the middle of the slope, you can see that the tap road crosses the intersection and continues a little straight.
When I asked the person who came up the hill about the name of this hill, he told me, "I used to go up the hill, where I used to go up the hill, there was Kaminakazaka (currently Kibogaoka High School), so it was called Kaminakazaka." Was.
On a sunny day, I could see Mount Fuji on the left side and Mt. Tanzawa on the front.
