"Kimura's monument" stands in Asama Garage-mae Park in front of the West Sports Center near the Kofukuji intersection.
In 1914 (Daisho 3), Dr. Kimura retired from the principal of Elementary School when he was in his current position. With the retirement allowance, I built a small terakoya in the current Minami-Asama town. At that time, there were many poor families in the vicinity, so tuition was free.
Three years later, a full-fledged permission was granted, and Elementary School, which has a wooden one-story building, four classrooms, and two teachers and about 60 students, opened.
Six years later, at the time of the Great Kanto Earthquake, the teacher fell home near the school and died while being spared by everyone. It is a monument to remember the teacher who devoted his life to the education of poor children who are single for life and poor without drinking.
When I was in the third year of Nisimae Elementary School, when I was drawing a school building in a drawing class, Mr. Yamada, who came near me, praised me, "You're good!" I still can't forget the teacher who inspired me to draw landscape illustrations.
